The small mountain resort of Hintertux has some of the most snow sure slopes in Europe. Positioned high on a glacier with arguably some of the most challenging and interesting runs in Austria with challenging for the advanced and intermediate skier alike.
Beginners will find the area daunting but experts will love the variety of steeps, ski routes and a bounty of off piste on powder days. Boarders may have some gripes over the sheer number of T bar lifts but will take comfort in the terrain park on the glacier.
As you come up the valley, you’ll come through Vorderlannersbach, then Lannersbach before you finally reach Hintertux. The village is traditional with no more than a collection of hotels and guest houses but there is more accommodation a 15 minute walk away with buses circulating regularly, making it easy to get around. If it’s a lively après ski life you’re looking for we suggest you head down the valley to the lower villages – just 15 minutes on the bus.
