Resort researchers
Passionate about your resort? Know it inside out?
Want to get paid for telling us about it?
We need researchers in ski resorts in Europe and North America to give the insider's view on your resort. You'll need to be able to give us the low-down on what makes your resort special and write reviews for your favourite restaurants and apres-ski. We also need some more practical stuff like where to find the doctor, post office or telephone.
You must have good writing skills and be able to work to a deadline (exceptions allowed for fresh powder days!). You'll also need to have easy online access. Part of the job involves telling us your favourite places to ski so, preferably, you'll be at least an intermediate skier or snowboarder. We pay a retainer with the potential for an end of season bonus but this is not a full time job so you will need other means of support.
Your weekly resort report will then get posted on
maddogski.com.

Cauterets
Cauterets, both a mountain sports playground and historic thermal spa town, is a relatively unknown jewel in the heart of the French Pyrenees. It offers a very different ski experience to the more commercial resorts in the Alps with uncrowded slopes, a genuine friendly French feel to the town and ‘more for your money’ prices making it an ideal location for a great value skiing holiday.

Jan-Erik Paul
After taking up snowboarding 10 years ago to get his ‘extreme’ fix in the winter, Jan-Erik Paul has been doing seasons across the world for the past 5 years (including La Plagne, Whistler, Serre Chevalier & Finland) when his body’s not been ‘in recovery’. This season, JP will be based in Vallandry, splitting his riding between Les Arcs & La Plagne – and maybe even doing a bit of DJing for the local bars & clubs. As a CASI Level 2 instructor, JP is always happy to help people on the slopes and give hints & tips to make your riding ‘sick’ (just look for the blingest, brightest outfit on the mountain)!

Summer in the Alps
If you love the exhilaration of flying down a slope and negotiating tricky terrain in the crisp mountain air, the Alps have plenty to offer outside of the ski season. From mornings spent skiing glaciers to afternoons spent mountain biking and white water rafting, adrenaline junkies have more enough to keep them sated. Read our guide to our top five summer resorts…
